A TRIBUTE TO GALLERIES IN THE PAST

ARTgalleryflorida.com pays tribute to a chain of “bricks and mortar” galleries in Florida that existed sometime in the last 35 years and featured: Regional and National Juried Exhibitions; “One Person and Small Group Shows”; and some featured artworks by worldwide famous artists. The tribute galleries are: Nova University at Coral Springs Gallery; Gallery at Springspace in Coral Springs; Park Shore Gallery I and II in Naples; Gallery Victoria / ARTgalleryflorida in Naples and online; and Florida West Arts in Estero, Bonita Springs and online. Park Shore Gallery I received a “National Decor Award of Excellence” in 1989 and was judged high in all award categories.

The first two galleries in the chain created the standards while the Park Shore Galleries reached award winning levels. This paved the way for the traditions now carried forward on line, by ARTgalleryflorida.com.

THREE VIRTUAL GALLERIES OF ARTGALLERYFLORIDA.COM

ART Gallery Florida features ARTESCAPE regional and national juried exhibitions. My Fine ART Gallery features current artworks by gallery artists featured in a series of “One Person Shows”. ARTGallery Estero offers art prints on canvas or paper and limited edition 3D artworks in various styles, subject matter and sizes.

Our major goals are: to provide a wonderful artistic experience for art lovers everywhere; to feature the works of talented artists who create artworks in a wide variety of subject matter, styles and media; to present quality traditional, contemporary and new directions in the arts; and to support artists by linking website viewers with the featured artists websites, e-mail addresses and phone numbers. Art patrons can then learn more about the artists and buy directly from them.

ADVANTAGES VIRTUAL WEB GALLERIES HAVE OVER BRICKS AND MORTAR GALLERIES

Many artists and fine art galleries have moved to the web to present and sell their artworks. Even a number of galleries, in cities known for their outstanding fine art galleries, have already moved to the web and closed their bricks and mortar galleries. Some of these art websites simply act like online stores selling artwork. Others, like ARTgalleryflorida.com, operate “virtual galleries” with a complete annual series of “One Person Shows”, group exhibitions, theme exhibitions and juried regional and national art competitions.

For a virtual gallery, like ARTgalleryflorida.com, the investment to build, and everyday expenses to operate, are both lower than in a bricks and mortar gallery. This trend has also allowed some web galleries to pay a higher commission to artists as well as charge artists lower membership fees.

A gallery on the web has a worldwide audience for their art exhibitions. Many bricks and mortar galleries have a more limited audience.

A gallery on the web does not have limited business hours. Art lovers worldwide can view, enjoy and purchase art 24 hours a day.
